  172. *** Here are some important file name changes in PageGate ***

  174. File Name Changes: (since version 1.4)
  175.  
  176.   PageGate's main database file has been changed from pgedb.mdb to
  177.   pagegate.mdb.  It usually resides in the PageGate program directory.

  179.   The mailbox format file (.mbf) used with the Mdaemon mail server has
  180.   been changed from notepage.mbf to pagegate.mbf.  It resides in the
  181.   \mdaemon\app directory

  183.   The web interface's cgi program's name has changed from web2mail.exe
  184.   to webgate.exe.  It may reside in the \inetpub\cgi-bin directory or
  185.   any other directory you setup.

  187.   All of the above should be handled automaticaly by PageGate upgrade

  190.   NotePager Net's executeable file has changed from NotePagerNet.exe
  191.   to NPNet.exe.

  193.   The new sendpage program for the commandline/ascii interface is
  194.   sendpage.exe.  It's syntax is displayed if it is run without any
  195.   commandline options.

  197.   Anyone that is updating the database directly should be sure to take
  198.   notice of the name change.  In addition PageGate now uses
  199.   Microsoft's latest database engine (the files are part of the
  200.   download and automatically installed).  This may be a problem if you
  201.   application is written to use an older version of MS Access.

  204. Upgrade Information:
  205.  
  206.   If you are upgrading from an earlier version of PageGate, please use
  207.   the following procedure:
  208.  
  209.   1)  Make a full backup of your installation!!!
  210.  
  211.   2)  Uninstall the old version of PageGate by using the 'Add/Remove
  212.       Programs' option in the Windows control panel.  This will
  213.       uninstall the program files, but will leave the data files
  214.       intact.
  215.  
  216.   3)  Install PageGate Version 2 using the instructions above.  Be
  217.       sure to specify the same installation directory for version 2
  218.       that was used by the earlier version of PageGate.
  219.  
  220.   4)  Run pgadmin.exe (PageGate's Admin program) from PageGate's
  221.       program directory.  This will upgrade PageGate's database file
  222.       without starting the other modules.

  224.   5)  Quit out of PageGate and then start it as usual.
